Abstract

Breastfeeding is an indispensable condition for the healthy development of the infant and for the regulation of the postpartum mother's physiological processes. However, changing the breast structure after reduction mammoplasty surgeries or breast augmentation using silicone implants compromises the effectiveness of breastfeeding, because it is associated with a reduction in the amount of available glandular tissue, lower milk production and higher rates of maternal complications, such as like a mastitis.
